It's not a secret that the female form or body has been attractive to men for many, many moons.
Sexual attraction may be the first thing to come to mind, however the female form is something of a wonder
to many artists and beholders alike. There is nothing more exuberant and sensual than the female form.
In many respects, images of the female body serve to define some of the most important discourses of Western culture -
the appreciation of Fine Art (beauty, and the tradition of the nude); however, some might dispute the very meaning of art and obscenity.
In any case a question of legitimacy arises. How are these images to be judged? Which are acceptable? Which are, by contrast, obscene?
The latter question is crucial. Indeed, one way to begin to think about ‘female form’ and its cultural significance is to think of
representations of the female body as less of a static object and more as a limit point or set of exclusions, for while an image of
the body of a woman can represent all that is pure or worthwhile. On the other hand, it can also embody that which is thought to be the most contaminated and disgusting.
In this chapter, I attempted to represent the female form in the context of Khmer myths.
Judge them for yourself, whether it's fine art or just plain obscenity.

Comment by transiting on 2008-12-17 10:36:37 This Chapter II selection is an almost alien element among the rest - maybe your early US "playboy" type attempts? (Especially the person with the blue stuff.) And it casts a negative light on your other work extending into Khmer history and traditions. Maybe you "sell" the "blue lady" so that she disappears?
Comment by GUEST on 2008-12-17 01:04:52 Hey all reahu man
I think you acknowledge in 3D painting is good. but pls check and see again for apsara style. don't try to mix your play boy style to the great culture of khmere. Let do anything.

Comment by khemra on 2009-01-14 00:56:38 You know what reading all the comments posted here it seems that everyone is nationalism and coservayive etc. But if you look at the reality of Khmer people nowadays my god, human trafficking, drug trafficking, high number of prostitution, illegal logging, coruption and other uncountable issues which caused Khmer's development,is that Khmer Culture? Why don't you look into that issue. To me artwork is really innocent, they make money through their talent, they are not involved with any sort corruption and destroying the forest like other people do, so you guys gotta respect artwork man. They are not the one who destroyed the culture and the country's development. You better to use your brain to think how to develop the country, and bring job and education to people that's what we all should do. The people who use their brain to criticise this kind of stuffs, are kind of brain less power. You better to do a thorough research on who destroy Khmer's culture, the you guys will end up supporting the artwork...so bring developments to the country is most important thing than criticising the artwork. Have you ever do research on Hkmer's culture before you make your own comment on Aspara..Apsara was sort prostitute for the king, and they were sexual exploited so they had nothing to hide, they are not god or any spirital, read the book man...if you all are nationalism why the country become so poor? I really hate that kind people who always say but never do any thing.
Comment by thainn on 2009-02-22 04:59:27 This guy is just want to make money on a famous people! You a a slug, not an artist. The photo Apsara3.jpg is a face cutting and pasting of a very most famous Thai actress in Cambodia. She is never take that kind of photo. She might properly sued you very soon by using her face to making money. This is not an art but it is a sexuality play boy fantasy. How you can say that the people don't have the open mind to accept the revolution of art? To perform sexuality is not an art but it is a part of sexual abusing. I am not nationalism as the guy name KHEMRA said because I am not khmer at all. This is a bout pornography and do anyone in this world agreed that the PORNOGRAPHY is an art? I suggest you better remove the picture number 3 from you computer. Even you try to change you IP but I am surely that they can block you again. This is about a privacy of a thai woman Name Suwanan Kongying. She got married and soon or later, she will get a child. This photo should not appear in any type of media because it is not truly her at all. I don't care about your art what I care is you abuse Thai women with that sexuality pornography. Take this photo away or the FBI will come after you?
